Great Lakes Lumberjack Show
Cock-a-Doodle Zoo
Visit the Old West Society encampment located just north of the fairgrounds pond and transport yourself back to a part of history dating 1865 - 1899. Members of the Society will setting up a cowboy camp and demonstrate what it was like living on the frontier in the 1800’s. Look inside a tent, watch cooking demos over an open fire or see a real working chuck wagon. Fair visitors will be able to mingle with cattlemen, lawmen, and townspeople and view the members of the Society compete in Cowboy Action Shooting using firearms typical of the era - guns, rifles, and shotguns.
Great Lakes Lumberjack Show will be presenting authentic historic logging re-enactments including demonstrations on Axe Throwing, Wood Chopping, Crosscut Sawing, Log Rolling; and more modern events such as chainsaw carving and modified chain-sawing. The show will contain educational and interesting historical facts about the logging industy and there will also be a display of antique logging tools that would have been used during the logging era.
Cock-A-Doodle Zoo will bring and display many animals from all over the globe; presenting them in a manner to reflect their area of origin, allowing fair visitors the opportunity to view the animals up close and interact by feeding and touching them. Along with a stage show several times dailey showcasing the many animals, video monitors will be set-up on-site for teaching and educating the public facts about each individual animal.
